John Forté returns with a new offering! Following his recent appearance on Amy Schumer’s podcast 3 Girls, 1 Keith, the Grammy-nominated recording artist, filmmaker, writer, and activist has released a new collection of music, RIDDEM DRIVE.

Written, produced and performed by John Forté, RIDDEM DRIVE is his third solo album. My sophomore album was released 18 years ago!’ Forté stated. ‘I neded this contribution to be essential, quieter, less superfluous and more meaningful.’ The project was released to all streaming platforms as an effort of love on February 14, 2020 and distributed by Talib Kweli’s Javotti Media.’I am excited to partner with my longtime friend John Forté for this release,’ added Talib Kweli. ‘Our friendship began around music over 20 years ago, proving that time is not the enemy.’In 2001, Forté was arrested and convicted for a first-time, non-violent drug offense. While he was granted executive clemency in 2008 by then-president George W. Bush, the experience catalyzed Forté’s commitment to criminal justice reform.First recognized for his work with multi-platinum hip-hop group The Fugees, Forté has been involved in a number of creative projects – from creating the inaugural anthem for the Brooklyn Nets to serving as the Music Supervisor / Composer for the CBS TV series Brooklyn D.A., the TV series The Last Defense (Executive Produced by Viola Davis), and the Schools Not Prisons youth advocacy tour.

‘Art is where all worlds collide,’ Forté said. ‘My new music very deliberately explores family, profession and purpose.’
